As we continue to scale rapidly, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Sofia. This person will help us build our in-house accounting department from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
• Support billing processes as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing and revenue recognition
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and increase efficiency
• Support audits, tax fillings, and other regulatory compliance efforts by preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and ensure adherence to internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• ACA/ACCA certification would be considered an advantage
• 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong understanding of core accounting principles
• Prior experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus but not essential.
• Prior experience with QBO, Xero, Netsuite, Payhawk, Ramp is a plus, but not essential.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Familiarity with billing systems and processes; ability to manage or improve billing workflows.
• Fluent English language
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work both independently and collaboratively.
